How to: Paste text into a chart in a Word document.
Solution:
Paste selected text from a Word document into a text box in an existing chart.
NOTE: The following steps require that a chart already exist in the Word document.
1) Copy the desired text from a Word document.
2) Select the chart. (Handles appear around the chart.)
3) Select the 'Edit' menu and select 'Chart Object...'. (A submenu appears.)
4) Select 'Edit' from the submenu. (The toolbar changes to the Chart toolbar.)
5) Click 'Text Box' toolbar button from the 'Chart' toolbar. (The cursor changes to a cross hair.)
6) Position the cross hair where the text box is to be displayed on the chart.
7) Hold down the left mouse button and drag the mouse horizontally and/or vertically. (A rectangular box representing the outline of the text box appears.)
8) Release the mouse button when the text box is at the desired size. (The text box appears on the screen.)
9) Select the 'Edit' menu and select 'Paste'. (The copied text is pasted into the text box.)
10) Click outside the chart when finished.
